wondering what there is to do on the long beach peninsula? well, where do we start... on a nice day the best thing to do is check out all the amazing sites like: northhead light house, cape disappointment, the lewis & clark Interpretive center, cape disappointment state Park, fort columbia, the boardwalk, beard's hallow, oysterville, and the list goes on! If you'd like to do some shopping there's downtown long beach (a close walk) and the port of ilwaco. both places have great little gift shops, art galleries, etc... if you're looking for more adventure you can go horse back riding on the beach, take our bicycles for stroll down the Discovery Trail, or rent some mopeds to explore the Peninsula. if the weather is unpleasant you can check out the one-of-a-kind marshas free museum, where you can visit the infamous jake the aligator man. also there is the neptune movie theatre just a couple blocks away and hilltop bowl just down the road in ilwaco. or just a short drive (25 minutes) is astoria, where you can check out the maritime museum, heritage museum and a handful of other great shops, art galleries, and restaurants.
surprisingly, one of the best things about the Long Beach Peninsula is its great restaurants. We absolutely love good food and after living in Seattle for five years and eating at many of cities best spots, we found that the Peninsula has a handful of restaurants that can definately compete with some of the Pacific Northwest's finest.
Here are just a few of the Peninsula's best...
Don't worry, if excellent food is what you enjoy, the Long Beach Peninsula will not let you down!
